Bio
Lucy Sears first joined the Green City Market team in January of 2024. Originally from the Washington, D.C. area, she holds a degree in English Literature and Communications from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Prior to joining GCM’s Communications team, Lucy served as communications director for Public Justice, a national legal advocacy nonprofit, where she helped lead the organization’s communications efforts and strategic messaging strategy. Prior to Public Justice, Lucy served as communications coordinator for the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD), where she first found her passion in urban agriculture and its intersection with issues around food system equity, sustainability, and climate justice.
When she’s not working, Lucy can be found exploring the various Chicago neighborhoods, harvesting fruits and veggies at a community garden in the South Loop, trying new baking recipes, and cuddling on the couch with her two cats Bean and Bobby.
